In the following review you are going to get the low down on a social media management tool called Social Oomph. You’ll find out why I use it and whether it’s worth you checking investing your time in at all. Sound good? Read on to find out more.

Social Oomph is a tool that has been on my list to check out for a very long time ago, and a few months ago after noticing a few influential marketers use it, I decided it was about time.

I upgraded from my free account to a paid account almost straight away and never looked back.

Now I use Social Oomph to schedule posts in bulk, monitor multiple accounts and to tap into Facebook and Linkedin  with some helpful scheduling features.

What is Social Oomph?

Social Oomph started out as a service that just focused on helping Twitter users become more productive and they soon expanded to include other social platforms such as; Facebook and Linkedin.

Social Oomph is still regularly updated with additional functionality and you can even use it to update your blog.

I’ll be the first to admit that it’s not pretty but as long as it gets the job done and makes my life easier then I really don’t care.

Review of Social Oomph - Schedule Updates

Pro Social Oomph features

The features you get on the professional version of Social Oomph are truly amazing, now that I’ve got an account I find myself wondering how I ever managed without it.

  • Linkedin and Facebook scheduling
  • Import RSS feeds
  • Schedule and publish blog posts from unlimited blogs
  • Advanced search tools to target users to follow
  • Advanced DM management to filter out spam
  • Your own Twitter dashboard
  • Delegate account management to other users
  • Bulk tweet upload

Free Social Oomph features

Even the free version has some great features:

  • Unlimited accounts
  • Schedule tweets easily
  • Track keywords
  • Shorten URL’s and track clicks

The automation thing

Social Oomph does give you the option to use automation for an additional fee, I’m talking about Follow-back and Auto-DM style features – it’s there as an option, but I wouldn’t recommend using these types of features (especially since Twitter has outlawed automated follow backs).

I’ll admit that I did used to be quite fond of the Auto-DM until I started to get hammered by what seems like every other user on Twitter.

What annoys me is the blatant spam, although they’re usually from compromised accounts – luckily Social Oomph’s professional account has some interesting ways to manage your DM’s no matter how much spam you’re getting.

Social Oomph gives you stats too!

Statistics are important.

If you don’t know what’s happening then you are just wasting your time.

Social Oomph Click Summary

I love the statistics/analytics section within Social Oomph, as well as helpful graphs you’ll also be able to download all of your click data.

Who else uses Social Oomph?

Well, me for one – and I still have a professional account because it works for me.

Other users include the likes of Jeff Bullas, Anita Campbell and the TweakYourBiz team – all people that know their stuff when it comes to social media.

What can Social Oomph do for you?

1. Social Oomph will save you lots of time because it puts everything under one roof and minimises the need for using other tools.

2. You’ll save money in comparison to the cost of most other social media management platforms.

3. You’ll be able to get more eyeballs on your content easier than ever before; professional users can user bulk uploads to schedule posts en masse.

4. Social Oomph’s search tools will help you find the right people to follow on Twitter.

5. Monitoring your social profiles is super easy with daily digests emailed to you, this is incredibly useful if you are getting a lot of mentions on Twitter for example.

6. Manage spam DM’s more effectively, everyone hates these and Social Oomph handle’s them with ease.

What about results?

I use the ‘tweet reservoir’ within Social Oomph to promote old posts.

The functionality here is powerful, very powerful.

Since using Social Oomph I have managed to boost my Twitter referral traffic by around 30%.

Social Oomph saves me time and effort.

That’s what’s important to me, being more productive and getting better results – the aesthetics are a minor concern.

Social Oomph saves me boat loads of time with advanced tweet scheduling, scheduled Facebook and Linkedin updates, URL shortening, account monitoring and more.

Here’s the big one – other social media management tools will rinse you when you want more and more accounts but Social Oomph gives you unlimited accounts no matter what.

If you want to waste your time on tasks that you don’t have to do, then Social Oomph is not for you.

On the other hand if you want to work smarter, not harder – try Social Oomph today and see the difference it can make to your traffic and social following.

1,000’s of other bloggers, social media experts and marketers are already benefiting from Social Oomph.

Isn’t it time you joined them?

I’ve used socialoomph for years. But I’m disturbed by what I’ve seen of the new interface. I can’t find the click summary feature anywhere.

    • Adam Connell

Sorry for the delay in responding – If you haven’t found it yet, you can go to Monitoring > click stats then click on the ‘click summary’ tab .. seems buried a bit but ultimately I really prefer the new look!

    Hey Ashley,

Not sure how your post slipped through without me responding, I remember commenting, hopefully I wasn’t imagining it – that would be quite worrying haha!

Anyways, I understand what you’re saying about it being an ugly too, I remember reading a post recently about how 95% of people make a decision based on the looks of websites.

Fortunately they have launched a new interface which looks a lot more attractive!

One thing you might like is one of the new features that allows you to schedule an update to be published at a specific time frequency, so if you want it to go out every 2 months, or even every 8 hours. You can then set the maximum number of times the update is published.

Thanks for the comment my friend.

Adam, you maybe should consider updating this post since the Social Oomph dashboard is different than is pictured here.

Thanks for the comment Guy. It’s on my to-do list to get sorted later this week – thanks.
